My brother is on a trip to Mexico and sent me a photo of their construction methods.

Sometimes you have to work with what you got. It does seem to be working for them. Poorer countries often don't have the tools or materials we have here.

Well,,, I guess they gotta use what's handy.

I saw some pretty ingenious uses of bamboo in construction, when I was in China.

All it has to do is hold the forms while they mix the concrete by hand. Yeah, I am sure that mix is consistent.

I use to spend quite a bit of time in mexico. The best is watching them weld without a shield.

OM, I've seen both poles and 2x4 used, and re-used.
Here's some more from where we go.
The one I have to get a picture of yet, is where the 40 ft highboy pulls up and the whole load of concrete blocks is carried up to the 3rd floor by a human chain.

I was going to post some of the pics of mixer trucks and the pumpers, but I can't locate them now.
All concrete there is produced by Cemex, a large multinational corp with a cement truck hiding in every alley. They seem to have local plants everywhere i went. They also are in every Latin country all the way down to Argentina.

As I remember the story about Cemex, the CEO built his model around the theory of ambulance placement and promised the quickest response to the need.

It looks like one has a leather mask and another is working on one.
