Default Willard lathes?

Found a nice Willard lathe near me with no motor for a nice price. Anyone use one of these?

I contacted the seller, the motor in the pic is not original and does not work.

Looks like it has a cup oiler meaning it likely uses some type of babbitt bearing at the spindle end, not something I like and would likely look for one with real bearings.

overall Looks like a well built lathe from the pictures.

Correct, they were mostly from the 20s from some of the reading I've been doing. I have a nice Craftsman lathe with lots of tooling, but this one seems much more stout. I will be stopping in to check it out, not sure I want a second lathe, but for the price I will be investigating!

Looks interesting! I believe it would have bronze bearings not babbitt, you should be able to tell by looking because they would have a shoulder exposed. The hand wheel is broke off

He’ll be okay, ORF only wants it if it’s sat outside for 50 years to develop an inch of patina on every machined surface, which would then allow him to weld the spindle to the headstock in his removal process.
