All these years later, it still is indestructible.
I'd of liked to see that event, too.

On the comment of " having wished to get it on film ", It seems to me the IP cameras are getting really cheap, and you can run CAT5 a looong way with those, or so Ive read.. food for thought !

A few weeks back the postal delivery guy pulled down in the driveway to drop off a parcel. He seemed a little cranky but, I didn't think anything of it. I walked up later to grab the mail out of the box (they have some weird rules they can't just give you your mail when they drop off a parcel. The mail has to go in the box WTF) I found out why he was cranky the pieces of his mirror were all over the ground along with a tiny little scuff in the paint on the edge of the box.

Glad to see your work bringing a smile to you Jenn. If I had the ambition, I would work up something for mine. My mailbox is now leaning with a dent in it. Hmm, wonder where that came from....., but I might after a project or two.

I've studied martial arts for nearly 40 years. I've have car insurance and health insurance..

I have worked nearly all my life to "Not" need them.. when I built the mailbox I was hoping I would not need to use it either..

But, with this I'm glad to have it..

I just wish I got it on film..

I can attest that it does in fact work well enough that the plow guys were taking bets so I'm double happy in the real world application..

I would rate it as an overall 9.5.. I have some things now after the fact that would make it just a little more special.. Instead of the cables and weights.. I would use a Bar and weight transfer system.. Still might since the box is do for a stripping and repaint.

Thanks.

I hate painting.. LOL... And would paint something just for the purpose to raise the fact I painted it. Cutter and I used to have a thing about paint or not painting.. It was fun.

Thanks.. I often miss the "do" action, "due" time.

Well Jenn, since it's due for a repaint, may I suggest a white background with a red bullseye?

Mailbox got hit again tonight.. About 20 minutes ago I heard a smack and ran out to see a high lift, late 70 early 80's Ford green truck speeding down the road..

they hit hard.. Dented the top a little bit and twisted the post around..

They lost their mirror and some window trim or fender trim from the looks of it.

No major damage, but it was just at the right height to push it down and sideways vs just sideways.

Took a little dent but nothing major.
