Default Wrought iron hammer build (steel face and peen) video

This it the video compilation of the hammer making process..

I didn't hit record on the camera for the peen steeling or the initial punching of the eye..

It's tough remembering everything..

https://youtu.be/iZfJUhSKWIM

just uploaded it so give it an hour or 2. It's 9/3 6pm EST..

Excellent work, Jennifer.

Working that close with a bare hand seems to have it's drawbacks. I noticed your hand disappearing and coming back wet during some of the operations.

Sure did.. only a few inches from 1800F can be a bit of a warming session..

The day this was made it was in the low to mid 90's.. At edge of the forge where I was standing to heat it up was maybe 110F..

In the video you might notice the guy helping stood towards the back of the trailer to stay cooler..

While the trailer is an excellent demo platform.. It is no where near a real shop with the correct tooling for the job at hand..

just saw this. you are one brave lady. I break out the oven mitts whenever I go near the oven, yet you're bare handed near all that red hot metal. I was getting anxious a couple of times when I thought your hands was kinda close to the metal.

No worries.. I've got thousands of burn scars..

When it starts smelling like steak or hamburger on the grill is when I start to worry..
