Leaving aside the semantics..........

I possibly need this tomorrow afternoon so have decided to crack on before I have the ability to bend flat bar sideways. At the end of the day the handle, point and everything else is the same. I just unbolt one hook and bolt on another.

I cut the bar to length and was looking at options for drilling. I think an m8 is the minimum I want here and drilling that out of 16mm bar doesnt leave a whole lot of meat.

I'm in the forging frame of mind and was thinking if only I was ready I could flatten the end of the round bar a bit.

So in answer to the question in my other thread. On a cold winters day, the fireplace is in fact the quickest, dirtiest forge!!!

No action shots, but it got orange and was softer than hammering cold.

Oh and I'm now making a peavey!!

Now you see the crap I put up with, hence the name.
Too many lawyer/English teacher types.
-------------------------Back to Work !...--------------
Getting you one for the weekend....

The first one I made, no torch, bending, or forge was used.

I simply cut and welded (stick welded) the pieces (IIRC 1/2" x 1")
the angle joint, the point on the end (pre ground it on the bench grinder)

And made (2) little ears from same, welded them to some pipe that was the handle. Predrilled them for a 3/8" dia. bolt.

The plasma cut one brings up a question to you.
If I sent you the DXF file, do you have a friend locally that could plasma cut it for you ?

I don't have any pix avail right now.
