Default I Need A Repair/Rebuild Manual

It sounds like I am going to have to dig into the transfer case in Josh's 94 Pathfinder. I would very much like to get my hands on a manual rather than going in blind. Thus far I have struck out on any source for one. It is a TX10 knowing shaft endplay specs and whatnot would be real nice. Rather than by guess and by God. I tried the ATSG website and some other places and came up empty. Ideas???

Woo Hoo I got it NICO club has manuals on it's site again. It used to be my go to for Nissan Info. But, they pulled their online factory manuals because Nissan sent them a cease and desist letter. Evidently they kissed and made up because the manuals are back.

Default A logical conclusion "NOT"

I love my son I love my son I love my son. A little digging revealed it was not the T-Case. It's the tranny followed by a "Facepalm" He has been changing the oil Religiously checked the diffs Etc. Did you ever check tranny lube. Nope way way low starved the bearings on the top shaft for sure. Solution go "Retro" and buy a 1986 300ZX Turbo z-car. The little shit has dad half hooked on some counts low low mileage for the year under 120,000. It's becoming a collector car sort of of like Vettes and Buick Grand Nationals. But, I have to roll my eyes and spank him.

Default So we have been digging into the Pathy Trans

It's been quite the adventure pretty much what I figured. Rear bearing on the top main shaft is toast. First Japanese Transmission I have stuck my nose in. Very different from American Truck Transmissions. But, not in a bad way. It is a modular design. The rear main shaft bearing is fed lube by a gutter system for lack of a better term from the front section of the trans. Once the lube got low enough the gutter ran dry. Josh got lucky we will have ton of labor hours (Mostly because we are doing weekends and have to drag shit in and out). But, little cash outlay for parts. Ballpark probably $200 So, here are pics to better explain the Modular concept

After several delays due to Josh's work schedule, the fire and whatnot we finally got to work on his Pathfinder transmission. Installed the new bearing with some all-thread and a couple drivers out of my Bearing race and seal driver kit. I took a couple pics to better explain the gutter system that feeds the back mainshaft bearing. Different from anything I've run into in the past. Not bad just different. But perhaps you can see now why it starved for lube once it got too low. When the gutter ran dry so did it. A couple more pics to illustrate the modular design of this trans and progress in re-assembly ready to go back in tomorrow Oh boy

So, the Pathy is back on the road and performing excellent. It also has a new set of matched tires. There is still a slight shudder from time to time which is maddening. There is no pinpoint clue. I told Josh to pick up a can of BG44K to purge the injectors. Plan B is we need to be able to track system voltage. Waiting for feedback????
