Default Wilson's Shop

My friend Wilson from he OFGC decided to build a shop in the back yard. He has owned dealerships for tractors and cars but never had his own shop. He is 81.

He hired a designer and got plans for a shop making the best available use of the area he had.(We did not know he was doing this) Then he made a deal with a local contractor for the job. One of his requirements was to use local folks when possible.

Anyway the building is well on it's way and should be finished by Christmas.

Now the HELP...

He wants a good plasma cutter capable of 1". We need a brand and a supplier.

He wants a MILLER welder start with ac/dc stick and have the ability to run shielded wire. Model number, and supplier.

He wants a compressor capable of running the plasma cutter.

One of the local welders is building two tables for him.
He has already ordered an anvil and a vise.

Another local welder is making a metal storage rack. He will also provide a list of steel to start out with and it will be ordered and delivered through him.

An old friend is doing the wiring and lighting and it is overdone on every corner.

He would like to have these three things ordered before the end of the week.

Don't have anything to do with the shop but he just put an elevator in his house. It is really neat.

I am trying to get him to lurk here and maybe come on board. Jerry

Cutter, he said Hi.

Everything seems in order but I'd like to caution that he shouldn't be allowed to play with the plasma cutter without parental supervision.

He will probably never use it but he is having fun setting up the shop. He has been just glowing since he started. I don't know where he ordered the anvil but it was $2000.

Well, OM, I'll say get a Hypertherm 1250 and any good 5hp/18 cfm compressor. That will cut 1.25" from an edge.
Hypermax has them for $2725
A compressor like thiswill do it...Craigslist

I am really glad Wilson has found something to do. His driving is bad and folks have to watch for him.

He gives a lot of money to a lot of people. He has an old Army buddy in a VA home that he sends $150 to ever three months.

He is going to have the prettiest shop in town. Earlier today he was working on the colors for the paint with a painter.

He ask me about black and white tile on the floor. I explained it would not work well with hot metal. Seemed to bother him, he wanted the black and white.

I told him to buy an upright compressor to save floor space.

He is coming to my shop tomorrow and bringing someone who is helping him.
