Have you considered adding a clean-out?
They have state codes for septic tank installation which do require a clean out. Only state approved people are permitted to install septic systems. So much for codes.

I may find some gullible teenager to dig down 5' x 3' wide then I will do that. Digging a 5' deep trench is not on my bucket list.

Time to go to the resource pile and fab up a back hoe for Scott’s new tractor. You have plenty of time being retired, right?

Not on my bucket list either....oh wait...I can do that with my mini-X
I keep finding more and more for it to do.

Good that the state has some standards, but they are sliding by with the approved installers. Better that anyone can install and then be inspected. That lets homeowners do it as well.

He did ask about a backhoe, but my advise was hire someone if the need came up.

Good advice, he might go gold mining if he had a backhoe
He has enough on his plate.

If you get some kid to do it. Have a trench box ready . We lost one 1 1 miles away last week with a trench collapse .

Scott needed a 16' long 10" diameter culvert for his driveway and I suggested a used 10" oil field pipe. Finally found a source but it came in 2 pieces. A little cutting and grinding on one end of each pipe and some welding and now he has a 21' culvert. The septic people are installing it and then running in the gravel for his driveway.

Ran the root with 1/8" 6010 and a cap of 3/32" 7018. Will hold a cement truck now. Welds ran OK for an old blind guy.

The weld looks nice, but if you want insurance on it, weld a 2"-4" strap around it to give it a little extra.

Will it pass x-ray? Lots of pressure in it.

No pressure allowed there, but I was wondering of 21' is enough length. Well I guess if someone drags a trailer over the end of it, it should be stout enough not to bend it down. We always use at least 30' here for culverts.
