Merry Xmas Jen. This was one of your best videos. So much more real when your face is included and to hear how you explain all the steps.

One question. Could a chisel be made entirely from a rasp, less the handle, of course?

Great video, and the little narratives along the way explain a lot in a hurry.

Thanks guys and Merry Xmas and Happy New Year..

It was nice having someone running another camera or 2.. Also really nice have a full sized shop to work in..

the trailer while a great work platform is tight on space..

A rasp would not make a great chisel as the lines from when it was made would or could be a problem.

Since its forged and then forged welded the cut lines are completely removed.

A file that had the teeth removed via grinding and then tempered would make a great wood chisel.

This was a combination pattern or a more modern adaption vs an old style tanged chisel.. the old style tanged chisels were light and designed for fine work.. A socketed chisel was usually for heavier work.

I watched the second part last night; a very nice example of workmanship.

Always delighted to see your work.

Thanks for posting.
