Oldest's car lost an oil pump drive and locked up. We got lucky and found a 40K mile engine at a salvage yard that had a cracked intake manifold. For about $500 all in we ended up with a lot nicer engine than was in it. The new one is almost silent running compared to the old one. Not valvetrain noise to speak of. But it is a 2011 and might have a better chance of getting a low mile unit. It's just getting old enough that it takes less extensive damage to total them out but new enough some grandma's are still driving them.

What picture is not like the other?

How do you pack that and not see the obvious, also the instruction
and any documentation that was in with the other was also missing.

Really? WTF, over...

You pays your money and take your chances. Crayon eaters, puddle jumpers, chair force, weekend warriors and village people also work in society these days. Just saying!

Aside from the missing rocker arms, the castings are different numbers. It does not mention rockers on the list of "stuff to return"...

And this, boys and girls, is why many of us prefer to just buy a used engine, reseal and be done with it. But apparently, some prefer the mystery and punishment of rebuilts...

I like to keep the extra $2000 in my pocket. And I have the skills.

So Spawn found 4 damages push rods last night so we will be replacing
them all as they come in packages of 4 or 6 and the intakes and exhaust
are different lengths so 6 of each being a 12 valve engine.

My ethics prevent me from doing that as I have no control
of the loose nut behind the steering wheel.
