Default Rotary Mower

Put new skis on this rotary mower, the man wants hard plates welded on the bottoms so they can be changed when the time comes, he doesn't want bolts. I have tri braze strips being cut and to attach them I was thinking of burning holes in the skis and plug welding from the top instead of stitching along the sides. What do we think of that? I think they would be easier to remove with the plugs by cutting on each side of the plug from the bottom.
