If you can verify it's a GERSTNER you did very-very good.
I think they place the name on all the boxes.
http://www.gerstnerusa.com/

Other wise it looks Ok for the price and nice to have.
I guess you would need to look how well its made.

Hey digr,
I gotta agree with the other fellows. Nice chest & if it is a Gerstner, you stole it. The other way you can verify if it's a Gerstner is the serial number of the chest is on the bottom of each drawer. Mine has a 3 digit # & is on the bottom of each drawer. Can't think right now of the other company who made a near clone of the Gerstner about the same time period. Anyway....nice score. Denny

Are there side locks on the top? What shape is the mirror? Finally, what sort of glue joint is used to keep the top and base attached to the chest?

If its in good shape I dont think $100 is bad at all. As for Id'ing it is that a symbol or logo on the center latch?

I am curious about the center drawer. I have always been told this was sized for a copy of "machinerys" My copy sure did fit into my Kennedy perfectly. This one does not look the case?

No matter what the brand, or lack thereof, you got a great deal

The fact that the chest is 40+ years old, and still looks solid, says more than anything else. Send it to me & get 110% of your money back ...
