I was recently laughing at one of these mfgs planning to drive their electric rig to the north and south pole.
Yes, with a sizable diesel generator for charging, and fuel wagon, and a shack with the tools and spare parts.

Of course they will take solar cells along for backup because they don't know it's dark in winter there.

I can see it now when the Salesmen are pushing options packages. The "Get You Home Package" includes a factory installed 20K generator with a "Free tank of fuel". If I had money to burn I know these idiots buying these POS will try to haul a trailer on I70 over the divide. I'd buy property in Idaho Springs on the East approach to the Eisenhower Tunnel (About 3/4's of the way up) and set up a charging station with charging rates approaching Rape.

Local news did a feature on the electric F150. One of the features they really sang about was that if the power goes out you can use it as a "generator" to power your house. Literally used the word generator

It has a lot of features that are way more beneficial than some of the upstarts like Tesla (worlds ugliest truck) and Rivian. Built on a common chassis with IC trucks, and having country wide dealerships and parts networks is good, and maybe people in Texas think that having backup power is good.
I see it as a suburbia bush queen, looking tough but not getting dirty. At least it doesn't have that self driving nonsense yet.

A Tesla Model 3 delivering pizza a couple/few years ago had "The Jetsons" noise and there are other novelty noises you can program. I would program farts...
