What is It?

I found this at the scrap yard. I thought at first it was a typical socket. The square hole is indeed 1/2” and connects to a standard drive tool as usual. The screw was not with this, I added it it indicate a threaded hole.

Says made in USA and has what I believe to be a three digit number but no manufacturer.

I have a stud extractor that looks like that it uses serrated wedges in the side holes to grip the studs the bolt in the side is not factory

Stud extractor was my guess but without the missing parts you mention it is difficult to say.

I don’t recall where I got this from, had it for several years. I suspect and hope someone recognizes it.

Did you live on a cattle farm? I think that is for neutering a bull. Depending on the size it could be for a smaller animal.

Let’s see if we can come up with a different application, I won’t be using it for that. Perhaps sheet metal forming?
