staybusy,I don't think anyone on this board is trying to beat you up for your intent on building a press, but they are just trying to make you aware of the risks involved. Build it, keep the hydraulic pressure relief valve setting low initially and then increase it to do the work you want to do..You did make the comment about your design- "then share it so you guys can critique it"...so build it then give us the play by play of how you test it and bring the pressure up to do work..if you do have a failure, shoot some photos of it and maybe we can help you improve it..just like freight trains, hydraulics don't play..keep in mind what you are working with..stay safe

No no Gerry, once again ol' Dougie is confused or in an altered state. Pretty sure the OP is the self proclaimed "degreed engineer".

1,442 postings and not a single one helping the O.P.? So you have taken the time to look through all of those posts and confirmed that I have never once helped a member? Not likely. I don't have in excess of 12,000 posts like yourself, but 2/3 of mine aren't useless drunken drivel either. ![]() I really hate seeing anyone suffer. Get yourself some help: https://pennsylvaniarecoverycenter.org/
