Thanks Gerry sorta now I have to find one of these or a listeroid for the coming lean times. The Witte would be way better for me because it is a natural for running off a woodgas generator setup.

With propane and a hot mag impulse, you really shouldn't have to pull the flywheel through fast at all. Just pulling it over TDC should do it. If your regulator has a priming button it may help.

I have a lister type, and it is everything they say for ease of starting and economy, bit the Witte takes all that and quality to a high level.

It takes little to start it if you can get it rolling over. And the amount of cranking we did was impressive. I never would have been able to troubleshoot it without the electric start.
Now that it is all ironed out and carb adjusted and fed right, it will start as you say it should.

Yesterday I filled up the coolant, and started it up and let it run. After it got hot, I started to feel some push back from the governor, not great but something. I took off for a couple hours to help someone and then when I came back it seemed to hold the rpm much better.
Started it up this morning and tach'ed it at 630 rpm and if I flicked the throttle up and let it go it returned to it's speed setting.

So I think the stuck weights are freeing up after the long sleep. I found out that Arrow sold the parts and rights to Sooner Machine, so I called them and they said they could scan and send me the exploded views they had and part numbers. And they did.

There are a few sources in the US. There is also Chad Equipment sells for about $1200.

I took the lid off the crankcase today as I noted a gasket seep, and I am guessing the crank rod journal is 2.75" and a monster con rod. It all looks new inide.
