Filling Oxygen cylinders
With Cutter talking about Oxygen Concentrators I decided to search Craigslist under "Oxygen" and came across this. I have nothing to do with the ad or know anything about it. I guess this guy is filling welding cylinders. Looks like there is a rear outlet port on the Concentrator that plugs into the upper refill pump. (wonder if there is a Duty cycle on the refill pump I would assume it would run all day filling a 130 cu-ft cylinder) with some time I would guess the setup could be had for about $1000 or less. From the listing ( he wants $2200). "Don't think I can go any lower than this since the compressor alone is 2500 usually I've been feeling my own oxygen tanks and no longer need the rig set up to fill just about any size oxygen container the adapter hose goes from the rig to a standard welding bottle but can be easily modified to fill just about anything with 2,000 lb worth of oxygen The setup includes oxygen concentrator and oxygen compressor which compresses up to 2,000 pounds oxygen bottle and hose adapter that goes to just about any welding tank As you can see in the picture they're both Invacare unaltered items I'll be willing to demonstrate but it's pretty much cut and dry hook it up turn ball valves on switch the machines on and they truck along until you have 2,000 lb of O2 For some reason this post gets flagged no explanation no nothing don't let internet bullying ruin Craigslist believe items like this that cost big business money they're trying to not let people know about "

I'm not so sure that he has. I believe that's a really slow process.
I would need a 2nd concentrator to use while that one filled the tanks. When you consider the initial investment and the running time to fill even a small tank it would be hard to justify. If a person in strong need of filled tanks living in a remote area had access to electricity & no other source of O2 then it would probably be worth it.

Yeah, I agree. Those things are complex, slow and sensitive. If they were so good everybody would have one. I'll stick with my rental bottles and a reliable, cost-effective source of gas...

The system is like a wife. You go to prison if you beat it.

$600 or best offer from Denver. concentrator with pump.
https://denver.craigslist.org/hab/d/...259691915.html As some of our members have stated they have to rent cylinders you can not buy them and get them refilled. So what is the rental cost in savings?

Then we'd need an honest estimate of the useful life of that little compressor, working up to 2200 psi.

1) fill time 2) cylinder size 3) 5 stage pump 4) belt drive (looks like a weak point plastic pulley) The compressor just my be the thing for LW's Air Guns. I e-mailed the person and asked how long did it take to fill a welding cylinder here is his reply. "The tank I have it comes up to my armpit I usually run it at night since I'm not in a hurry I figure about 16 to 20 hours to fill it"
