![]() The rock was the size of your palm. Took 15 strokes, about 15 seconds to make the rock into pea size and some powder. Another 10 seconds and it would be all fine powder.

Nicely done. I have a small jaw crusher here that was used for crushing samples.....sometime soon I need to find a home for it. No idea where or how to even go about selling the thing.

The one I made I am guessing it is 20 lbs. Pretty portable for a one person hobbyist.

Maybe mine's not as small as I thought, has to be at least 200 pounds, maybe more. Belt drive with about a 2" thick, 12" diameter flywheel/pulley on the crankshaft.

I am not certain but I suspect that the pair I have were intended as a portable crushing setup for on site assaying they were mounted 0n a common base so they both could be driven by one motor.

Neat build for the able swinger of the hammer.
Milo, for years I was the go to guy for those wanting to dispose of broken brick, old building brick used for foundations etc etc. So today the pile is a good 40' in diameter and heaped to a nice mixed red and brown pile a good 10' or 12' high. My hopes were to one day figure out a simple way of crushing things down to a size I could use for around the shop and driveways. As it is now, the transporting to and from a crusher site is a little out of my wants. Now if I could just send you a few in a flat rate box a month and have you pulverize them for me, that would be just great. ![]() I think I even started a thread on here for ideas for crushing brick early on in my membership.

I have seen almost similar down here in ' stralia" for years.
A few week end hobby prospectors have the bit of pipe with the bottom opening enclosed and a bar. I saw some of them in the old time camping shops. They don't weigh a lot, or take up much space a and easily packed in the weekend kit. Down here we call them dolly pots. These days ,mainly old farts of my vintage use em while the young blokes are right in there the electronic detectors.
