ive been in buissness for over 20 yrs. your going to starve to death working for those farmers.the startup cost alone makes it prohibitive.not to count insurance (cover your ***) i personally carry 3mil in GL and another 50k on my trucks.i work .on everything from ships to sky scrapers.if you only do one thing like farmers you aint going to make it.now for pay.i get $40 an hour and with all the competion thats hard to get.deduct from that 40 an hour rods(1/8 7018)75.00 a can, your insurance,consumables,fuel,and lord a breakdown can really screw things up.now try this on for size you dont have the experience .now for the good news if you work hard, go the extra mile for your customers,sell yourself,take the jobs nobody wants ,do quality work,keep your equip. tip top,work long hours,you will create a reputation and you will makeit.but above all things welding is from the heart,its gotta be in your blood .after all the years ive done this i jump out of bed wanting to weld and fit. i hope you can do it god bless you
