If like most of my projects, either about twenty to many, or short one.

As you can tell from my earlier post, I expect one short or wrong size.

Pump guy is here. He dug the trench from the power pole to the well. Trench started at 2' at the pole and ended up at the well at 5'. 1 1/2hp pump to go in.

The trench will have both the power at 2' deep and the water line at 5' deep.

I wish. Now he wants me out there tomorrow to put the power lines in conduit up to the well. About 60' worth. It is 4/0-4/0-2/0 inside 2" conduit. Tight fit but doable if you slide on one section at a time and glue joints as you go, then drop it into the trench. The 90 degree elbows are the hardest. Once that is done he will use his tractor to push in the dirt.

Why are you using 4/0 cable to power a 1.5hp pump?

Thats a 200 Amp service entrance . :-)
Sure doesn't need to worry about IR drop for the pump. That MAY be "over filling" the conduit. I don't have a code book any longer.

It is main service wire for the shop. for now it goes to a temporary panel. The excess wire will be buried just before they do the concrete. Pump runs off a 220V 20 amp breaker amp feed from the temporary panel for now.
