Default Combo Welding helmet available?

Has anyone here seen a combination welding helmet offered by any one. What I am looking for is a traditional helmet fixed lense, with a smaller auto darkening lense to have the best of both worlds. I like looking through a traditional lense because the area around the weld seems so much clearer. When I use my Speedglas or other two backup helmets, it seems that I can only see the immediate area around the weld arc. Sure I know I should only have to pay attention to the puddle, but I always want more. LOL.

Have you adjusted the shade darkness on the auto-dark?

I have tried all shades (9-13) but it does not seem to help. The weld arc seems to only light an area about 1/2" around the puddle when I am using my speedglass helmet. I know about about adding a spot light to the area, but this isn't always possible in my shop. The boss complains enough about work taking too long, I don't have time to always move a light. I wish he would buy more lights, but I will get the story about we have more light than they did 40 years ago, and his dad and uncle did fine.)

The couple of times that I had to use the backup passive (Old helmet) I am always impressed by how much more area around the weld puddle I can see, and it seems much clearer overall. I always think I should use the old helmet more, but I always revert back to the speedglas. (Must be since I paid so much for it, I think it should be better, lol)

Maybe I just need to mount a led headlamp on the speedglas helmet to alway put more light on the work.
