Default propane forge

50 bucks for a small propane powered forge... Is this a good price for doing small stuff? Probably won't get much use, but the price seems pretty good to me.

Default Looks like a possible money pit...

I'd steer clear of that without a lot more information. For one thing, if the listed size is the firebox dimensions, its huge. That would be a real gas hog.

Second, I'd want to know what kind of refractory is in it and whether or not its burned out. If you have to reline it you could probably build your own forge for equal or less money.

And finally, the long tube on the burner suggests its a blown forge. A venturi burner would have a straight burn tube with the jet pointed directly into the firebox. The add doesn't say if the blower is included so that could end up being another $100 or more.

If you can get them to give more information it may be worthwhile but as easy as it is to build a forge I wouldnt buy that one without knowing alot more.

thanks for the info.. i had emailed the guy this morning, but no reply yet, so I have no idea what it looks like or what it comes with.....

I don't really need a forge, but will have to check it out to see if it's too good to be true or not
