You know, I've been thinking about that actually. An upcoming project will require it's purchase and use. I wasn't sure how well it'd hold up over time though. That'll have to be an experiment for another day I reckon.

Post pics when you do anodize it!!

I've been reading up on home ano and it seems pretty simple. There is a lot of good info out there on it...I think there is even a Yahoo group.

Default DIY Anodizing

Back in the day ham radio operators mostly built their own or rebuilt surplus military gear. One popular way to decorate an aluminum front panel was to anodize it. In those days most housewives (our mothers) had good ol' Rit fabric dye in their sewing closets. We could always nip a few chemicals from the chem lab at school. and we were in business! My mom was partial to blue dye so all of my front panels and enclosures were blue!

Don't forget EYE PROTECTION! the so-called "gas tight" goggles are good and very cheap.
