Default Resonator guitars

Don’t know what this really comes under but wondering about the steel resonator guitars, are they any special steel and are they gas welded or what? Anyone know?

Here is a pretty good video on it. Looks like mild steel. I would tig the body together. Seems most buy the cones and resonators.

If you could make one from a propane tank, and shape it like the minions characters you make...that would be cool.

I always liked Mike Auldridge playing the dobro, or resophonic guitar. Back about 1974, I was volunteering at a free medical clinic in Bethesda, MD. After that, we'd go to a local bar for a cold one. Really quiet late afternoon on a Sunday. But there was a guy who played a mean dobro - Mike. It was his stomping grounds. Pretty incredible.

Probably weigh too much. I was wondering if the welding would affect the tone.

"Tone" ???

Make it electric. No worries about "tone" nor even "tuning" it.....

Cut the bottom out, and put the feet on a little hidden cross bar.
so the sound comes out the "bottom" where the feet are.

I purchased a Minion doll for my cousin, she loves them. It is a minion
with a grass skirt, and a straw hat on.

The grass skirt detail get's rid of the closed round bottom of the normal minions, and would
enable a square, open end.

Don't know if any of you remember Matt Eich or not, but I've followed along with him ever since the day he showed up on SFT asking a very similar question. He knew how to make a guitar but didn't know how to do it in metal.

And now look at him!! He's recently revamped his website so it can host more music so be sure and scroll through to the sounds his creations make below the opening page. Very cool stuff. I've never been able to play a guitar but I do enjoy listening to them.

Amazing.
I was thinking about him last night but couldn't remember his name past Matt, and I was wondering what had become of him.
And as you said, look at him now. That's just wonderful.
Thanks, dubby.
