Default The SFT team anvil

After some scrounging and some hacking away, I was able to take in everyone's suggestions for design elements and come up with this.

The top is about a 10 x 10 x 5/8 piece of steel cut off of a mystery part found half-buried in the woods (our property was home to land excavators and contractors for decades before we got it so there are always fun things coming up out of the ground). The base that transfers the force to the ground is a 6 x 6 left over from the building of the garage, the mixed brackets/footholds/trussage is partial payment from a client for some computer work, and I'm still working out how I want to put wheels on it (I'm thinking something like a hand truck, but that will be a function of what I can lay my hands on).

Many thanks to everyone who contributed thoughts and ideas and suggestions - they were all a great help.

Thanks! I gotta give a lot of props to you. Big, big help on a number of details I wasn't even considering.
