Default Oil grooves

I found this guy from Asia that has a lot of shopmade lathe accessories that seem unique. Backyard rigging to be sure, but I can’t see a better way to cut oil distribution grooves than this doodad shown quickly at 12:00 - 13:00 in this video… https://youtu.be/OfQLzQT63Dg?si=EqSvXyKHrG1zX1m1

I've seen a couple different devices for doing elliptical grooves. There were times when I could have used them but never needed anything like that enough to get around to building something...

Don't have much call to make oil groves, but splines and power broaching a key way ring my chimes. I can see a use for this.
