I think so. I only know of 1 other person with the 460. There are a number of the 330lbs.

The 460 actually has a narrower face width and was the primary reason for this particular model want.

The Peddinghaus has a 5" face width also at 275lbs.

Not sure exactly how many were imported since he started.

No, I stumbled on his website one day and thought that is convenient it's on the way to some of the Wife's kin in far far Northeast Nebraska. So I bookmarked it thinking somewhere down the line I might be able to order an anvil there and pick it up during a visit.

I wouldn't wait to long. The prices since I was interested have gone up 700.00 for this model.

I like the south german because of the horn is the same height as the face with no corners in the way of horn use.

a Northern German pattern has the sharp face at the horn junction and limits the use of this area for close use. on the Peddinghaus there is a 1" difference between the outward face edge and the horn.

The only advantage I can see with the North style is when making chain since the scarf is held over this area to forge.

this can be easily done with a swage in the southern style.

I never thought about this Northern style as a problem before purchasing it as I always had the full use of the horn on any of the London pattern anvils i had used. But the cutting shelf is the same width and at the same plain or nearly so.

so that huge face lip over the horn really is tough.

Those purple HF slings sure are handy aren't they? I got my first ones when I got my skid steer after the wildfire (google Starbucks fire). I used them first for pulling fence posts out of the old fence, then picking up pipe posts when rebuilding. Now they are in the skid steer all the time to be used for all manner of jobs!

They do come in very handy. i grabbed it just walking by and it's funny that it is the best thing I could have bought for the moving of the anvil and stand.

It was on sale at the time too.

The stand is nearly done. A few corner braces and then forge the bolts to hold it down. I'll see about forging them tomorrow to finish out the project.

I want to install a few diagonals towards the bottom and then a few tray swivels.

I love that you wear the DoAll hat. I'm glad you got it. Have you use the fork and tried the hardie? No pressure on either, just thought I'd ask.
