I am using AutoCAD almost exclusively for my own projects.
I think I’m running AutoCAD2014 at home but I’m not sure which release is on my desktop. I own several going back to version nine on floppy disk. Before that I did CADapple on an Apple Computer. Previous to that it was proprietary stuff run on mainframe computers. Before that I had to type stuff on IBM cards and feed it into a mainframe que until I got out of school. Then I had a girl to type the cards for me and I just had to write everything with a pencil. I spent many many hours running various versions of AutoCAD and I officially learned to run Revit. But I didn’t care for it that much and also I left the business about that time as well. Over the years I’ve also drawn with Corel Draw and Caligary Truespace. But I did 20 years behind a regular old drafting board with a pencil and the Vemco V-track. I still have a Vemco elbow machine out in my shed. I also remember drawing game layouts for 3-D video games like Duke Nukem and Destination Saturn. Those were done doing using proprietary cad programs called Devil and Build. I ran AmadaCAD for many months, doing sheet metal punch press layout. Last edited by CaddmannQ; 03-29-2023 at 03:49 PM. |
