Heck when the I have a good fire going, I can't put my hand on for long on the double wall stove pipe on the stove in my house. When it's really going you don't even try.

Got my shop spray foamed this fall and am getting quotes to get a boiler hooked up to the pex in the floor. Currently heating the whole shop with a 1500w space heater and according to the thermometer across the shop it's keeping up enough.

Got a quote for the slab heat only (30x35) for $4600 asked what it would cost to add an emitter for the N room (15x30) on a second zone and it went to $8500. Finally got the second guy to call me back yesterday and am supposed to meet him Fri. Very tempted to do it myself. If I do I'll start a new thread to solicit help from the group.

PEX has been in forever but never had any insulation in that part of the shop so I never got a boiler. Now I have insulation and am working through getting it heated. Our balmy fall / early winter has allowed me to get by with a space heater until I get my heat situation figured out.

I do not have a boiler yet. Just getting pricing on having someone do it. My wife thinks I have too many projects. Getting a quote taken a long time.

I have a vent free heater in the north room but I'm afraid to use it since the building is sealed up much tighter than before.
