Finally got back to the shop wood stove today. Cut the hole in the wall for the stove pipe. Using a salvaged double wall thimble that came off of a mobile home. It was used to go through the roof but mine will go through the wall. After getting the hole cut with the sabre saw, and setting the thimble in I see I will have to do some trimming of the 5" pipe. Expected that.

An alternative would be to move the wood stove back about 8" which would also be OK since it will give more clearance between the stove and the wall. Not sure yet which route is best.

The vertical pipe outside the shop has been marked for welding in a nipple for the thimble to fit into. I will have to make the nipple out of the same 6" vertical pipe. It will have to be split and welded back up to fit the 5" thimble.

I like the lockers. I've been looking for a few of those for a while now.

I like that idea, but might consider leaving the doors on. Would help keep the shelves clean from dust in the air. But question is have the door open up, or down?.

A friend of mine left the doors on his above his lathe, he likes it I don't, when I reach for something on a shelf I don't want too have to open a door. They do help to keep the tools clean tho. His doors open down. I suppose one could put chains on them to hold them level and you would have twice as wide shelf.

Have you considered using outside air for combustion? Your setup looks like it provides for an ideal opportunity.
