Our situation doesn't change a lot. Production has been down and prices have been down but that is part of the gas production game.

My daughter's husband was laid off and is working a bad job, but he is working. You always feel your kids pain.

This us typical of what we get, this guy pulled out of his parking spot and hit a Pete with the trailer axles, ripped the hangar right the bogey frame and the main rail on the bogey is bent up pretty good.

He told me and his safety compliance guy, that there was hardly any damage to the Pete lol. He rolled the trailer over the Pete front fender area, if there is this much damage to the trailer the front end of that Pete gotta look ugly.

Pull the pins and lift the trailer reefer body off the bogey, cut it out, fab up a frame section and weld in, fish plate the inside, porta power the hangar back into position and weld up. Send for alignment. Change the shock absorber too.

Our Pete frame job went for sandblasting early this afternoon after the alignment guys were here to set up the axles. Our rear axle was 9/32 out but the front drive axle was perfect. 9/32 is not very good, but the alignment guys got it perfect with the shims etc, like to see a tolerance of 1/8. I told them I did the front drive axle and Derek did the back one lol.

The Pere will be back tomorrow afternoon, it's next door which works out well, probably paint tomorrow night. Out the door Saturday, he will hook to his reefer, find out the headache has to come off the truck too, so I suspect him back by Monday.

Interesting looking job BRG, and yea, the front of the truck he clipped would have a bruise or two I suspect.

I'm curious though, why chop the 24 or so inches off the Pete to go from flatbed to reefer? I can see the headache rack having to come off, but shortening the tail doesn't seem to make sense to me, aren't most trailers standard in that sense?

The pete had a 270 wheelbase, he used to pull a 48 foot flatbed, but now is haulling a53 foot trlr, so overlength. I did a pete last year, that was 6 inches too long.

I chopped off 26 inchs, but I moved the axles ahead 26 inches on the frame rail.
