Default End Mill Purchase

I just finished making out an order for HSS end mills. I noticed that all of the end mills have a 3/8" shank, regardless of the cutter diameter, the carbides I have the shank and cutter are both the same on each size end mill. I got some 1/8", 3/16", 1/4". 5/16" 3/8", 7/16" and 1/2", I got 5 of each size in both 2 flute and 4 flute center cutting. I probably should invest in a real good 3/8" R8 collet and a couple more of the 3/8" collets for the collect holder I got from Grizzly. The end mills will be drop shipped directly from the Korea factory, I bought them directly through the sales rep and the LWS, I'm going to be their Guinea Pig.

When they come in, I'm going to have Norm to stand behind the milling machine and make CNC noises, so I can pretend.

he has enough musical instruments at his house to outfit an orchestra, so he probably would make me a tape to play, with all kinds of CNC sounds.

This test could turn out to be pretty interesting to me. My little CNC only came with one factory holder of sorts, and it's 3/8. I've had to make the other sizes as needed. Sure, I could order them, but it's not worth the expense to me.

Edit: I could record you a mix tape of my little Sherline doing it's thing in case Norm's too busy...

I have an orchestra concert this evening, maybe Jack could record the persecution section dropping their sticks and cymbals. I don't know what he would do with the rest of the sounds though.

I could make you pleennnnty of noises...Unfortunately even bad ones. I was machining some HSS die chasers yesterday with a 1/4" 5F carbide EM and accidentally hit the rapid button instead of feed...Whoops. It didn't survive and made some nice crunching. The chaser was fine, though.
