Question #40 vs. #41 roller chain
What is the difference between #40 and #41 roller chain. I've always used #40 but just noticed there's a #41 that seems to be the same pitch. #40 works just fine, I'm just curious, what's this 41 - just a heavier chain or what??

#41 is 0.25" between side plates. #40 is 0.312".

Thanks guys. Just noticed this as I'm building some go carts for my boys and some neighbor kids. It was marked on the info with the clutches. Important project! Can't mess this up because of an oversight!

Default 40-41 chain.
can i use a 41 chain gear with a 40 chain?
