Default My SA 200 Rebuild...

I ran across a deal on a '67 redface SA200 a couple weeks ago. I got the welder on a trailer with cables for $600. To top it all off it actually runs and welds. I have been tearing it down and refurbishing it so to speak. Some of you guys may have seen some of the pics over on weldingweb, but I thought I would post them here too. Any advice or opinions are definitely welcome.

The engine runs great, and the compression seemed to be fine. No smoking either, but it does have some leaks that I am gonna fix before painting and putting back together.

had some rust spots that needed to be patched but I am gonna just order a hood and doors to replace the old ones with as they are too far gone to save.

The wires coming from the generator had cracked, but I used some heat shrink and repaired those. After I get some new brushes it should be good to go.

Side note: it's good to see that flag keeping you company, Hammack.

Well, are you going to return it to the original Lincoln Electric Gray color??

I think that all SA200 machines were gray weren't they??

It will be painted gray, but not the original. It will be closer to the newer darker gray.

True sign of quality workmanship about to happen.

Hammack that trailer must have had a whole lot of other stuff mounted on it at one time. The SA looks a little lost sitting in the middle of all that wide open area.

That will make a nice rig once your finished.
