Default Working on the Superduty 6.Slow

2003 Ford F250 Superduty 6.0 Turbodiesel. Been having issues with not building enough boost, black smoke out the tailpipe, and occasionally a hiccup when using the skinny pedal too much. Bought the Autoengenuity scanner for my laptop with full capability for all Ford products.

There was a code, P0299, for the Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT). One of the bellows/expansion joints is cracked and there is lots of black soot against the firewall. Four holes had a cylinder contribution/balance codes as well.
Ordered and just received a new y-pipe, up-pipe, and eight remanned Motorcraft injectors and a new set of glow plugs.

The VGT was disassembled and cleaned up. Found the unison ring sticking, so a good scrubbing and scraping of the turbine housing was in order. A small magnet on the actuator opens and closes the unison ring like it should now.
