Default Camdigger digger

My brother called me the other day. Apparently he wants me to make a toy digger for his grandson like some I made 30 years ago. Seems his grandson is obsessed with earthmoving machines. I agreed to put one together. The grandsons birthday is next month, but I told him he would have to paint it, and I need to give him time to do so. I just need a lazy susan bearing for the swivel and it is done mechanically. Probly better to paint the base before the swivel bearing goes in anyway. I plan to take it to my brother early next week.

I saw this design for sale in a magazine. The geometry of the links is such that the bucket curls automatically as the dipper crowds toward the operators station. This means that there are only two levers. I built several after I got the link geometry figured out. Gave some away, sold a few. Kept one for my kids and an extra for a pattern. Lots of kids seem to like them.
