I guess if you want to, but it's just an axe. A couple good swings into a piece of wood and that burr is long gone. Never did see the need to get an axe razor sharp--if you're using it seriously that super fine edge isn't going to last very long...

Measure twice and cut once...or...wait, was that the other way around?
