Can't see why not, blow it clean with air after.

EDIT In your case I would use a bit of mineral or hydraulic oil if you need to thin the lithium grease. I mentioned motor oil but angle grinder gears are not bronze. I am surprised that no one in Onterrible has the right stuff in small quantities.
