Rough rule of thumb:
1. standard bottom die opening is 8 x material thickness
So you know how short of a leg you can bend.
2. using the 8x standard, 1/4" plate will need a 2" wide opening,
and will take 20 tons per foot of bend.

So 1/8" plate will take 10 tons per foot.

adjusting the bottom die wider/skinnier will change things.
