I have a fair amount of experience with Tri Braze. What I can tell you is that even with their special wire and plenty of amps you do not get great penetration. I'll see if I can find the etch I did.

I would not recommend plug welds in this situation, rather fillets you can get to when it needs replacing.

Don't get me wrong, it's good material - hard as woodpecker lips (actually it's the same hardness as ar400) the key advantage to this material is that where ar has hard faces, Tri braze is through hard.
