I had good luck by accident. The skid loader...

I had good luck by accident.

The skid loader I bought had a smooth bucket edge.
So I rooted thru my neighbors scrap bin, and came up with
a skeleton from the plasma table.
1/2" plate 6" wide...

I got a little slag (I was cutting with the water touching the underside
of the plate), but the slag was very fragile, and came off easily.

Ussually, with water, the slag is tenacious.

Agri supply has "disc" bearings (with the square hole, or round)
and a large O.D. cheaply. They are a big bearing, with a good dirt seal.

Maybe put a row of them in a bored...

Which is how I use them, I can easily grind the configuration
needed for each job.

Deflecting a thin bar is the big thing, and the square tool (and minimal
radius) works best to minimize deflection...

I dunno, I'm just not seeing the quick change, interchangeability, and accurate
repeatability with your pictured boring bar holder.

The Aloris (style) toolholders do all 3 things well.
