Should be a good running machine. I have a '81 and a '83. The '83 I bought in '84 was a bank repo . The '81 I bought as a backup about 10 years later still sits shrink wrapped on a pallet.

Something else to consider if you do get it welded/repaired is how thin it is in other valve pockets, they may not be visual now but might crack and show up after the motor is heat cycled.
