I gave up the big grinders a long time ago,i had one get away and it got tangled in my shirt sleave,that thing pulled my shirt off in a nano second and gave me some road rash on one arm,i was lucky....

I do the same,well to tell the truth we don't sharpen blades,the sand eats them up,but we do change them often,the same way.
