Starting is not the issue with scratch start. It is the stopping that will give you porosity at the stop point. With a pedal that issue is gone.

Got the 99% of crap cleaned out this morning....

Got the 99% of crap cleaned out this morning. Still have to blow out all the passages in the cylinder. Also freed up the wheel bearings with a little PB Blaster.

Welcome back to the fold!!! If it were me, after seeing the pics, I would find a bed to fit, or make a flatbed. Not sure you can fix that one, as it looks to far gone to me.
