For a lift gate, I would run a separate hot wire...

For a lift gate, I would run a separate hot wire to an unused spot of the fuse box. Other than that, I would just tie in to rear existing wiring for the lights.

Hope you roof turns out square. I always square the roof and sheet it and put on the roofing material before putting on siding. Find it easier to square the walls after the roof.

Bad News/Good News. Bad is the sensor I ordered did not come with slotted mounting holes therefore cannot adjust the idle voltage. It is boxed up and ready to return. Good is the new one I ordered...
