The width will not be right , depending on the type you find some are just angle welded or bolted to the plate, then bolted to the truck frame, some are bent to bolt to the frame....

has me grade for them, and a neighboring road about a half mile away . its slow but works good.

As far as the height goes, I have seen uhaul trailers that have the height printed in reverse so you can read it in your mirror when traveling , hard to forget when you look at it...
