Hmmm. Rust and repair...

"Gin Pole" got a slotted end piece on to hook the lift chain, and then a welded on bolt tractor side to retain slack chain with a nut as a secondary "safety".

My '05 always did the "I can't decide which gear to be in" thing, at least until it lost the 2nd gear band at 208k. Had a local guy redo it with an upgraded (but not coal roller) billet converter...
