You might could fab up a frame with a right angle worm gear speed reducer piece of pipe and a pillow block to support the outboard end. Then add some way to hold the wire and feed it on the pipe....

Your press looks good really green:) You might want to just get an adaptor instead of boring the spindle.At least to test and see how big of a bit it will spin.Those old flat belts slip pretty easily...

A lot of them are between 40 and 60% silver depending on who made them. If you can get enough of them they would be worth keeping for the silver. Some are alloyed with Cadnium be careful melting them.

I use the lathe and mill both for woodwork.A good sharp hss end mill works great on wood also.Covering up the machine ways with some shop rags or plastic makes cleanup a lot easier.

Dan;I don't think those grinders have any belts on them. The one I have seen had direct drive spindle. Everything else was gears to move the head up and down and rack for the table.
