The pic looked like it was a beam on its side. Agreed, I would not have done that either. Much stronger straight up. Should work OK but will collect trash as you say. Glad to see you back here.

Got the plate trimmed and upped the spin rate to 3rd gear on the tranny. Working much better. Split about 2 cords and stacked today. About 3 hours work.

All my welding is done outside. Dedicated stick welder. Seems I am facing west in the morning and east in the afternoon. Fighting the bright sun coming in the back of my hood all the time.:mad:

Take a O/A torch and just turn on the acetylene...

Take a O/A torch and just turn on the acetylene on low and coat a collet black, install and remove, and you will see where it is sticking.

Got the machining, drilling and welding all done...

Got the machining, drilling and welding all done on the splitter cone. Sealed the tractor end of the splines with some silicone and the roll pin holes to prevent water from running down the splines....

My switch is on the left as well. Expect that was done due to most people would use their right hand to do the down feed. I need to tap the draw bar after loosening it to pop the collet loose.
