Metalwork Merit project

1 Attachment(s)
Finally got to start the hands on part of our Metalwork merit in our Royal Ranger group. The young man that I'm working with has really upped his game lately. I'm not going to divulge (yet) on what the project is. Hopefully it should become apparent very soon. All of the parts have been cut.

I have never heard of the group. One good thing I don't see any blood yet.

Kinda sounds like a Boy Scout project merit badge.[emoji4]

Royal Rangers is very similar to Boy Scouts. There are many similar merits as them. It was started in 1962 using the pattern that Boy Scouts had for their program. One major difference is that Rangers have Bible merits. It is an good program and an awesome ministry. There is a lot of mentoring in our group. If you want to check it out go to royalrangers.com and look it over.

I haven't heard the term Royal Rangers in like 30 years! I was one back when I was a young whipper snapper. I remember all the camping trips, cookouts, projects and stuff. I even got to take a ride in a hot air balloon once as one.

Thanks for the reminder, looks like a fun project.

He has already been schooled on the perils of tinplate and what happens if you don't keep pressure on the snips when you are cutting. We did make it this far without any of the nasty burrs.

It is starting to look like windproof candle holder/lantern for finding your way to the outhouse after dark.

Also useful as a cheeze grater For the camp cook when making spagetti
